Weekly Round Up 16/08/2020 Hooray I've finally got my hair cut, the first time since 1st February and it feels so good! It's not styled quite right as all the brushing and cutting plus the cutting pulls the curls out but I just know when I wash it on Monday it's going to look lovely! I'm never very good at getting my hair cut, it seems like an easy way to spend £25 and because it's longish and curly no one ever notices. My mood has also been good this week which has been nice. I'm really starting to notice the benefits of eating healthy. It's not just good for the body but the mind too. Staying active With the heat again this week it's been hard, but with a break last week I was ready to get back on it. I wanted to try a new routine and in doing so, I came across an app called Fiton. It's completely free and has so many workouts in so many different styles. From yoga and bare to strength and HIIT. It even has a few yoga videos with Jonathan Van Ness from Queer Eye - if you haven't watched it, go to Netflix. It's great and a proper feel good watch. I have cried many times! In a good way! I biked to work three days this week too, which in the heat was hard! I think biking in the rain might be worse but I haven't had to do that in a long time. Judging by this week's forecast though, I think it's inevitable. Period News I am slightly frustrated this month as I am now on day 22 of my cycle with no sign of ovulation, other than an outburst at Matt on Friday. I haven't had any ovulation pain, my BBT isn't rising and it's got me feeling down after last month's cycle. I am trying not to stress about it as that won't help anything. It will happen when it's ready too. I also have my blood test on Wednesday to start the ball rolling on the PCOS diagnosis. I'm not sure what I will do if I do have it, I know I don't really want medication so if it is the case, I will just have to continue eating in a way that nourishes my body and hormones and look again at what I am still eating that may impact that. Book Recommendation If you love to read, specifically crime and suspense books. I highly recommend checking out Rachel Abbots series about DCI Tom Douglas. I got my sister on them and she's read 5 in like 3 weeks! She's hooked. I love reading before bed, it's a great way to unwind and get sleepy. I've always been a big reader, my mum used to read to me and my sister all the time when we were younger and it's something that has stuck with me. My kindle is probably my favourite device, I would have to have a whole room filled with books otherwise. Other News In other news this week, I also have my smear test on Monday morning, I have had abnormal results in the past resulting in an operation to remove the offending tissue, click here to find out why smear tests are so important and my story. Having abnormal results in the past is worrying with this one coming up. The upside is now I know what to expect if that is the case. I hope you have all had a wonderful week and are enjoying this cooler weather. I am not one to complain when it's hot. However, the new office building I am working in is like a greenhouse and the air con is not functioning properly, well it is, there just wasn't enough installed for the large open plan office space!
